It took me a while but I finally see why Portra is supposedly a good film to be scanned instead of printed. Contrast and saturation is pretty low so you definitely have to do some adjustment after scanning to get the results you want.
But in my opinion that defeats the purpose of film if you have to adjust the results in post processing. Scanning is only a means to digitized the results of film, not to enable a means to post processing film.
I do hope it’s only my imagination that I find it pretty flat but you be the judge.
