Creators Labo #026 Neon Genesis Evangelion Pre-Painted PVC Figure: Soryu Asuka Langley

Here's another figure review, this one came during the weekend I was in Singapore for AFA X (so I guess that technically makes it 2 Asuka on the same weekend). I'm starting to see a very dangerous obsession with Asuka.
Asuka Sohryu Langley Maid version by Kotobukiya 1/7

Today I'll be reviewing one of my purchases from AFA X. I had been looking for this Asuka for a while now when I came by it during AFA X. This is the original red maid outfit version which I feel was a lot better than the yellow outfit that was later released as a special limited edition. As it keeps in line with the Asuka's fiery temper. The yellow one felt like it lacked the associate of the outfit with the personality of the wearer.
AFA X 2010 Singapore Day 3 (cosplay report!)
And here we have the final installment for AFA X cosplay report! So enjoy the photos~~~!!
If you just want to read about the day event then go here though please forgive the short report as I didn’t attend most fo the events that day and instead focused more on the cosplay.
AFA X 2010 Singapore Day 3
Date: 14th November 2010
Here we are again with the report for day 3, I should have taken a Monday off that way I wouldn’t be in such a rush.
Anyway, we were only planning to attend the Regional Cosplay Championship for a short while then continue our way checking more cosplayers. So we paid a nice visit to Kinokuniya at Takashimaya.
Though due to my fault, I thought they would be opening at 9:30am, we arrived 9am. So we kinda wasted our time instead just checking out the surrounding location.
But anyway let’s skip to the Cosplay championship
AFA X 2010 Singapore Day 2 (Cosplay report!)

Alright! Time for the cosplay report as promised! While the morning was exciting and fun but there was so many cosplayers and really GOOD ones, that I had to do a special article on them!
For those who just want the report about the event, go here
AFA X 2010 Singapore Day 2
Date: 13th November 2010
Saturday…..the second day of AFA X…..if I had to describe how did this day go I guess it could best be summed up in 1 word, it would be “AWESOME!”
After CrossChannel finally arrived last night, we all decided to turn in for the night without delay as both of us were dead tired. Although the next morning I found him diligently working on his notebook @_@…..
I had initially wanted to update about the event at night but the internet at the hotel was total crap, it was nothing like what I had heard about from people who had reviewed about the hotel and it was not cheap either, SGD 5 for 2 hours of Internet connection. It was a total ripoff!
We both quickly made our way to Suntech convention hall thinking we would be early and the crowd wouldn’t be too big, oh how wrong we both were >_<
AFA X 2010 Singapore Day 1
Date: 12th November 2010.
This is me at the airport waiting for take off. I had wanted to take Friday off so I could go to and see AKB girls but because I had only recently started work, I was unable to get a full day off and instead opt for a half day instead.
Though for this trip I wasn’t alone, I would be meeting CrossChannel from Penang down at Singapore later that night.
Flight was rather boring and tiring, I shouldn’t have opted for the 6pm flight. Next year I plan to take Friday and Monday off.
Anime Festival Asia 2010

Yup folks, I’m heading down to Singapore this weekend for AFA X! I’ll be bringing down my macbook along with my camera and hope to see the rest of you anime fans as well! For more information about AFA X you can look it up here at their about page.
Girls with cameras: A pictorial book.
Japanese books, even if you cannot read a single word in them, the ideas they present can still be very interesting.
Like this new book today, which is apparently a book reviewing the latest cameras as of 2010 but instead of using photos of real models holding cameras like other magazine, Japan has decided to use the power of moe or anime to promote the cameras.
Which is rather shameless when you think about it but speaking from a business point of view its rather ingenius. Take one part nerd camera, one part moe, with a dash of basic tutorial and you have a book that could sell considerably well in Japan.
Simply Beautiful photographs
Here is something different for a change. I picked this some a few weeks ago but only got around to reviewing today.
But of course anything by National Geographic is always good. I’ve been a big fan of their work as well as they contribution to charity as well as environmental work.
This is one of their latest coffee table photo books show casing another dazzling collection of photos from the archive chosen by Annie Griffihs. Each work is commented by her and credit is given to the photographer.
